Employees of the study were asked to answer the question, “What
Happens on a Great Workday?” Making progress—even incremental
progress—was more frequently associated with positive emotions and
high motivation than any other workday event. This finding confirms
the truth of what Johann Goethe said: “A really great talent finds
its happiness in execution.”
