In general the apes have fine, straight, and profuse hair. Among
humans, these characters are most closely approximated in the
Caucasians. Among blacks the hair is coiled and on the body it is
sparse; among Mongolians it is coarse, straight, and sparse. Apes
have thin lips, another character most closely approached among the
Caucasians. In man the spine is curved inward in the small of the
back; in the ape it is not. In man this character is most pronounced
and least apelike in African blacks.
