Think much, speak little, and write less. However, if you are going to
write, it is well to write what you think people think you think rather
than what you think, because people have no idea what you think, and likely
as not, are uninterested. Seldom say what you mean and seldom mean what you
say, thus adding to the whole affair. One thing can be done by writing that
can't be done in any other way, and that is that you can write yourself
right out of your reputation when you write.
