Canadian prison inmate Robert Walters, halfway through a 24-year
sentence for robbery, was allowed out of Collins Bay penitentiary for
six hours on a "resocializing program" on the condition that his guard
keep him in sight at all times. After the two got drunk at a bar,
Walters excused himself and popped across the street to rob a bank.
