I was hitting some horrible shots one time. It wasn't unusual for me. I
turned to the old guy who was caddying for me, and I said, "I suppose
you've seen worse golfers in your time." He didn't say a word. So I
repeated my question. Almost shouting this time, I said, "Hey! I suppose
you've seen worse golfers in your time." He said, "I heard you the first
time--I was just trying to remember when."
I wonder if it was the same old codger who caddied for my wife one day. She
said, "I've never played this badly before." And he said, "You've played
before?"
