Omid Abri

Prof. Dr. Omid Abri is a Medical Director of the Centre for Minimal Invasive Surgery. Prof. Abri is a highly advanced laparoscopic surgeon, continually developing new technology based workflow procedures for both the clinic and the OR department.He is one of the pioneers of minimally invasive surgery. Through the use of new technology and the use of technology-assisted processes, many of which have been developed by Professor Abri, he has achieved a connection between effectivity and quality and established a Center of Excellence for minimally invasive surgery in Berlin, Germany. Prof. Abri is a developer of new procedures, and very active in the fields telesurgery and telemedicine. He works together with the Fraunhofer Institut in integrated research projects such as automized tele-manipulation via eyetrack movement, and with the "Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V. - DLR" on robotic surgery.
