An Iranian student of Stockholm Institute of Technology, Sara Najafi, received the Information Technology award of Microsoft Corporation in Sweden for the year 2005. Najafi is presently working on her Master.s thesis in information technology at Sweden.s KTH institute, ISNA reported.

She is also undergoing training in Hewlett-Packard and Ericsson companies while studying management and economics at Stockholm University. Najafi told ISNA that the IT award is prestigious and includes expenses for participating in several international research seminars, including an IT confab in Cambridge.

Commenting on reasons for her selection, Najafi said the award is given for continuous and innovative efforts in the field of IT and compatibility with consumer.s market. Asked about the reason for her pursuing both IT and management, she said those who only study IT are weak in the field of management and those who merely study management are weak in the technical field. .Hence, I decided to master both in order to have a higher chance of occupying IT management positions after graduating from university,. she added.
